Coinbase Card Review: Cashback, Fees, & Perks
Coinbase Card is a Visa debit card that allows eligible European and UK users to spend fiat, USDC, or supported crypto from their Coinbase account. It operates as an extension of the exchange rather than a separate card account.
The reviewed EU and UK card has no cashback program. Its main advantage is direct access to Coinbase balances, with funding available through SEPA and supported onchain deposits.
This debit card is separate from the US Coinbase One credit card, which offers Bitcoin-back rewards. European Coinbase One subscriptions provide trading, staking, support, and onchain benefits rather than card cashback.

Cashback and Rewards
The EU and UK Coinbase Card does not earn cashback. Coinbase One subscriptions have separate account benefits but do not add spending rewards to the reviewed debit card.
The US Coinbase One credit card is a different product. It offers 2%–4% Bitcoin back based on the value of eligible assets held on Coinbase, and those rewards do not apply to the European debit card.
Card Fees
Paymentscan’s test recorded a negligible foreign-exchange difference on a card payment settled from a euro balance.
Paymentscan Testing
On 13 July 2026 at 19:35, Paymentscan made a PLN 1.30 purchase with the Coinbase Card. Coinbase charged €0.30.
The contemporaneous benchmark rate was PLN 1 = €0.23075, giving an expected transaction value of €0.299975. The observed foreign-exchange markup was approximately 0.008%, effectively matching the benchmark rate for that transaction.
This was a single test transaction and should not be treated as a fixed rate for every currency or purchase.
Funding Your Coinbase Card
Users can add euros through a SEPA bank transfer or send supported crypto from an external wallet. Coinbase supports deposits for more than 100 assets.
USDC deposits are available across networks including Ethereum, Base, Solana, Algorand, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, Stellar, Sui, and HyperEVM.
After funding the account, users select fiat, USDC, or another supported asset as the card’s spending balance. When crypto is selected, Coinbase converts the chosen asset as part of the card transaction.
Additional Features
Coinbase One
Coinbase One is an optional subscription with tier-based trading allowances, enhanced staking rewards, and additional support benefits.
The Basic plan includes up to €500 per month in zero-fee trading and a 5% enhancement to eligible staking rewards. The Preferred plan raises the zero-fee trading allowance to €10,000 per month, increases the staking enhancement to 10%, and adds priority support.
These benefits apply to the wider Coinbase account rather than creating cashback tiers for the European debit card.
Referral Rewards
The referral offer tested by Paymentscan paid PLN 50 in Bitcoin to both users after the invited user completed a first trade worth at least PLN 50. Rewards were available for up to 10 qualifying referrals.
Availability and User Experience
Identity verification uses Onfido, with Jumio used for proof-of-address checks.
Paymentscan completed onboarding in approximately 10 minutes on an iPhone. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported, with the card added to Apple Pay manually during the tested flow.
Who Is This Card For?
Coinbase Card is best suited to existing Coinbase users who want to spend directly from their fiat or crypto balances. SEPA funding and broad crypto support make it practical for users who already keep assets on the platform.
The reviewed European and UK card does not provide spending rewards. Users primarily seeking cashback may prefer a rewards-focused debit card or the separate US Coinbase One credit card where eligible.
