Decaf Card Review: Cashback, Fees, & Perks

Decaf combines a USDC-funded Visa Platinum card with a wallet for receiving, holding, investing, and withdrawing money. The virtual card costs $5, while physical-card pricing varies between the US and other supported markets.

Decaf offers no cashback or card rewards. It adds no membership, foreign-transaction, or ATM withdrawal fee of its own, although Visa’s exchange rate applies when currency conversion is required. Our small test transaction produced an observed spread of approximately 1.6%.

The card is best suited to users who already use Solana or Stellar and want several ways to receive and withdraw funds. Its lack of EVM-network support, absence of rewards, and $90 physical-card cost outside the US make it less compelling for some users.

Paymentscan Testing

On 2 July 2026, we made a 3.70 PLN purchase and Decaf charged us $1. This produced an effective exchange rate of 3.70 PLN per dollar, compared with a benchmark rate of approximately 3.76 PLN per dollar.

The difference represented an observed spread of approximately 1.6%.

Funding Your Decaf Card

The Decaf Card spends USDC loaded from the Decaf wallet. We could receive crypto through Solana or Stellar addresses, but Decaf did not provide an EVM-compatible deposit address.

Decaf also supports funding through eligible US, European, and Mexican bank accounts, MoneyGram cash deposits, and assisted OTC services. Once USDC is available in the wallet, it can be moved to the card through the Card section of the app.

Additional Features

Decaf users can create a reusable payment link and receive supported card, bank-transfer, or crypto payments. Funds can then be held in the account, spent through the Visa card, transferred to supported bank accounts, or collected through eligible cash-pickup routes.

Crypto Invest

Decaf’s Crypto Invest feature deposits USDC into lending markets through Lulo.fi. The app offers Protected and Boosted options, with the Boosted option carrying a 48-hour withdrawal cooldown.

During our test on 2 July 2026, the app displayed 4.81% APY for Protected and 8.31% APY for Boosted. US and Mexican government-bond options were greyed out in our Polish account.

Availability and User Experience

Decaf restricts card applications in several countries and 12 US states. Physical-card pricing also depends on whether the card is ordered within the US or elsewhere.

We completed onboarding in approximately 10 minutes. Sumsub handled identity verification, and we reused a compatible verification previously completed through Monerium, which simplified the process.

We had to add the card to Google Pay manually. Apple Pay is also supported through a manual set-up process.

Funding was less convenient for us because the wallet provided Solana and Stellar addresses but no EVM-compatible deposit route.

Who Is This Card For?

Decaf suits users who want a Visa card alongside international receiving, bank-transfer, MoneyGram, cash-pickup, and USDC payment options. It is particularly relevant to users already active on Solana or Stellar.

Users seeking cashback, EVM-network deposits, or an inexpensive physical card outside the US may prefer another option.
