Rizon Card Review

Rizon is a crypto-friendly Visa virtual card that combines card spending with trading and rewards inside a single app. Rather than focusing solely on cashback, it layers together subscription-based cashback, a points program, discounted trading fees, and integrated funding through both traditional banking rails and stablecoins.

The platform offers three subscription tiers, with meaningful differences in cashback rates, trading fees, and account benefits. During testing, onboarding took approximately 10 minutes including KYC, and the virtual card could be funded using either stablecoins or fiat payment methods.

One thing worth noting is that Rizon's advertised cashback rates are subject to relatively low monthly payout caps. While the headline percentages look competitive, the effective cashback depends heavily on how much you spend each month.

Rizon Cashback and Tiers

PlanMonthly FeeAdvertised CashbackEffective Cashback on $1,000 SpendCashback CapRewards
StandardFree0%0%NoneRizPoints only
Gold$3.991%0.50% ($4.99 maximum)$4.99/monthCashback + RizPoints
Emerald$11.992.5%1.20% ($11.99 maximum)$11.99/monthCashback + RizPoints

Although Gold advertises 1% cashback, the monthly payout is capped at $4.99, meaning a user spending $1,000 would effectively receive around 0.5% cashback.

Similarly, Emerald advertises 2.5%, but because rewards are capped at $11.99 per month, $1,000 in spending produces an effective cashback rate of approximately 1.2%.

Cashback only applies to eligible purchases. Transactions such as crypto purchases and gambling are excluded.

Unlike many crypto cards, cashback stacks with Rizon's separate loyalty program, so users earn both cashback and RizPoints on eligible purchases. The platform appears to credit cashback directly back into the account, although it does not explicitly state whether rewards are settled in fiat, stablecoins, or another asset.

Emerald users must maintain an active subscription worth at least $20 in total (effectively around three months) before becoming eligible for the complimentary physical card.

Subscription payments are non-refundable.

During our testing, a purchase costing 6 PLN (~$1.59 using Google's exchange rate) was charged as $1.73, illustrating the impact of Rizon's currency conversion fees on foreign transactions.
